I care about a half a million more. Seekonk is not a wealthy town and money has and will continue to be mismanaged if we don't start reeling in our spending on projects that we don't need. We have buildings in this town that are not being used, yet we are building a senior center. Explain the reasoning behind that decision. And I'm not concerned with a medical marijuana dispensary. Having a dispensary does not take it off the street, and that's where the largest problem lies.

ReplyI'm more concerned with the additional $500,000 for the Senior Center than I am with a marijuana dispensary.

ReplyI remember when it was Arnold's and I also remember the day it became Micheletti's. It was the go-to place for ice cream after any ball game. It happens to be my family's favorite breakfast place. The Whitelaws are a terrific family as are the Micheletti's. Thank you, John and Anne, for keeping this seekonk landmark alive.

ReplyThe Senior Center should be moved to a new location pending the new center. I believe repairing pleasant street would, in fact, become more expensive as time moves forward. Wasn't this the reason why a new center was being built? And with all the abandon property in Seekonk I still fail to see the reason why a new senior center needs to be constructed. Let's work with what we have

ReplyI thought the safety issue was the main reason a new senior center was being built. If there are liability issues, then it makes sense to move. Maybe there is more to this than I'm reading, but it appears they would be moving a short distance, closer to the YMCA.
