Gretchen, Gretchen, Gretchen. Here you go again with your generalization that Republicans are all bad or "morally" corruption. There are Democrats who are as bad as those you seem to chastize. Can you say Charlie Wrangle? Bill Clinton? Ted Kennedy? JFK? and many, many others who each had things hiding in their closets. Generalizations cause more harm than good. Specifics, with viable evidence, speaks louder.
Both you and I are guilty of this. I just wish we could get away from all the anger, lies and hate that is thrown out to us by all forms of the media. We're gullible and they know it. Good news doesn't sell, bad news does. Sensational, negative front page headlines sells, whereas, the good stuff sits on the shelves. We're a very sick society. We are morally and socially corrupt from our leaders to Wall Street to Main Street America. -

Gretchen: I would DEFINATELY say the same to a male. Bias is bias. I do not like it from anyone. I want people to make decisions based on thorough, educated evaluations of people, not strict party lines.
By the way, I'm straight and one of my closest friends is Gay. Both of us have based our frienship, not on sexual orientation, rather so many other aspects in our lives. Yes, Conservatives can be compassionate. It seems that Liberals talk "Tolerance" and "Acceptance" of all, yet some of the worst comments regarding hate comes from Liberals. I don't understand this. Just listen to Talk radio political hosts, both sides are "rabble rousers" spewing hate. It's their job to incite people. The better job they do, the more $$$ they rake in for themselves. I listen to "Big Ed" Schultz" (your side), Mark Levin (Conservative). They're both trouble makers. I laugh at them both. They laugh at us...all the way to the bank. -

ReplyGretchen: Your bias is so unbecoming. Atitudes such as your are a main reason for the devision that engulfs this country today.
I, do, lean conservative for personal reasons and preferences. I am not a R or D by any means. I try to listen to all opinions from all sides. From there I try to base my opinions. Last election was pretyy much divided between the 2 parties on my ballot. Some R's, some D's I liked, others I didn't.
As long as people are adament in their following of strict party lines this country will never get out of the problems we're in. Yeah, R's won't work with D's, but, did the D's work with R's when pushing Obamacare through? No. Some D's are now saying it may be a "trainwreck" to impliment it as it stands.
I don't begrudge people of any party alignment. I just wish people could be a bit more open minded on things. Not everything a D states is correct as is not everything an R stands for is wrong.
I am an Old Fart, will be fertilizing the earth before the total collapse of this country is complete because of narrow minded people (both sides) who feel their way is the only way, as you do. I don't have the answer and I don't think any of our leaders do. My suggestion (that's all it is) is to FIRE them ALL and try to start anew. -

ReplySeriously, it is important to know what is going on in the community, BUT, who really wants to give up 6 - 10 L-O-N-G nights during the Spring with so many other activities going on at that time of year.
Why not go back to an open Town Meeting held on a Saturday. Complete the meeting in one L-O-N-G day. Some states have a state wide Town Meeting Day where everything is done in one day, open to all. After the meeting, those in attendence sit down for a box lunch or dinner. It truly is a community event.
If this doesn't work, maybe, it's time to change the town's form of gov't....Mayor & Town Council. Put it on a future ballot and see what the "community" wants, then act upon their wishes. -

ReplyEven degenerates need a place to relax. Sounds like this is the hot spot for them. To avoid possible cramped quarters in the Police Station, maybe the town could rent a portion of the building as a substation for the police. Bet the place would quiet down real quick!!!

Maybe it's time to go back to an open Town Meeting or Town Council type Gov't.
