Deb, I'm not sure how this works, but I believe this is how I write you a private message. I want to tell you in private, (I think), that as a new town official, I am working very hard to understand the issues and to understand them from other peoples' points of view. I have been to the residential lots that are up for rezoning. I have met the very nice mom and her daughter who could lose their home because of this. I have walked her yard and listened to her story. I care as much about her and her family as every other citizen in this town. I made a decision at the time based on the facts that I had. Bad on me for not digging deeper. Lesson learned. No more posting opinion or leaving out facts that I should have found. I still believe that businesses in business zones on Rt 6 is good for this town and tax base, but this issue has been a crash course for me on the personal side of the issues. I tell you all of this in private, because I am really trying to be the best person I can be for Seekonk. I don't want to seem like I am grandstanding for everyone to make myself look better. I have made mistakes, I will make more. But, unlike many, I will own them, attempt to make them right, and learn from them. Thank you.
