Rape Reported in Seekonk

A Cranston man is in custody following a reported rape early Saturday morning at Mary's Motor Lodge in Seekonk. The incident involved multiple victims of multiple crimes, Seekonk Police Capt. Craig Mace wrote in an email to Seekonk Patch. Police arrived at the scene shortly after 12 a.m. following a call by a "female reporting being assaulted," according to the police log. The 59-year-old Cranston man was arrested on suspicion of rape, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness and threat to commit a crime.
