Attleboro did not win PetSafe's Bark for Your Park contest, but dog park organizers push on.
The Attleboro Dog Park Committee received word that Attleboro is not the winning community in the PetSafe Bark for Your Park contest, a contest that would have covered all the necessary costs to opening a dog park on Pond Street in Attleboro. Attleboro was chosen as a semifinalist Despite having an award-winning videographer, Trisan Rudate of TRS Productions and Double ACS, helping with the project, 15 other communities wooed the judges. Dog Park's Mutt March brings in $350 toward the creation of an Attleboro dog park.
Nearly three dozen dogs participated in the Attleboro Dog Park Committee's Second Annual Mutt March Sunday afternoon. "It was a great turn out," said Dog Park Committee Member Raymond Cord. "We raised $350 and shot group video for the Bark For You Park contest. " A total of 30 dogs of all sizes and breeds marched through Capron Park. The dogs were judged based on Best Dressed, Best Kisser, Most Obedient, Best Trick, and then Best in Show. "Although still a long ways from our goal we are inching closer with each event," Cord said. "We were also able to get some great shots and collected some great video, which will be used for the PetSafe Bark For Your Park $100,000 contest." Attleboro was recently named as semi-finalist.

I would like to thank everyone who came to the 2nd Annual Mutt March. Everytime that we have a fundraising event I consider it a success as it takes us one step closer to our goal of having an off the leash dog park. Not only did we raise awareness to our cause, but we had tons of fun doing it. From every adult who came to every child who were thrilled at the sight of so many dogs in one area. A …   more ›
