Family-Owned Tree Farm a Christmas Tradition for Local Families

The Standleys make selling Christmas trees a family affair.

Evoking memories and childhood traditions, generations of Attleboro residents have been tagging and cutting their perfect Christmas trees at the Standley Tree Farm. Standley's is no ordinary tree farm. The family-owned business, founded 25 years ago by owner Bill Standley, makes choosing, selling and loading Christmas trees a family affair. Standley, a retired U.S. Navy captain,  started the business once he retired from  his 20-year career at Texas Instruments and 26 years at Chomerics. There are several generations of Standleys on hand helping families choose the just right Christmas tree. Standley's wife Carol along with granddaughter Allison Standley work the checkout counter, while son John Standley and grandson Ryan Byrnes are busy …

Since living in Attleboro, my husband and I have gotten our tree from Standleys every year except one. That one year, the tree didn't last very long. We always go to Standleys with our hot cocoa and pick the perfect tree. They're always very helpeful helping us get it into the truck!!   more ›
