Patch Recipes: Buffalo Chicken Dip

Enjoy the big game with big flavor.

I know you're upset the Patriots aren't playing in the Super Bowl, but stop claiming you're going to skip the big game. You have to watch, or you aren't an American. Besides, now that your team isn't playing, you can relax and enjoy the party without having to worry about every play. Your blood pressure will rise because of all the snacks, not because of iffy calls by the refs. The best features of the Super Bowl, in order, are watching the commercials, eating party food, hanging out with friends (just don't talk while the commercials are playing), making ridiculous bets and actually watching the game. Unlike other media members, I'm not going to spoil the commercials for you, it's too late in the week for me to find you friends and I am …

Super Bowl Cheerleading Controversy: Isolated Incident or Larger Issue?

A Ravens cheerleader has been making headlines for the reasons she says she was banned from cheering on Super Bowl Sunday.

The story of a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who said she was disciplined for weight gain—and believes this is a reason she was left behind from the Super Bowl—has been making headlines across the country. Cheerleader Courtney Lenz said she thinks her team didn't take her to the Super Bowl was because she gained 1.6 pounds. Admittedly, her story has changed through the week: Yahoo Sports noted she first said the team was upset because she had chosen to retire at the end of the season. She later told Good Morning America she thought the decision was because of her weigh-in. The alleged snub led to supporters starting an online petition to reinstate her, The Huffington Post reported. The team has said they picked cheerleaders for the Super …

Bishop Feehan Wins Super Bowl

A 21-7 victory over Lynnfield gives the Shamrocks their eighth championship.

Another title will be making its home at Bishop Feehan High School as the Shamrocks defeated Lynnfield 21-7 in the Division 3A Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium Saturday night. The Shamrocks were able to seal the victory with a goal line stand with 5:54 left in the game. Feehan was able to keep the Pioneers out of the end zone with their goal line defense throughout the game. Feehan senior quarterback Nick Romero had two touchdown runs, including a game-sealing 36-yard score in the third quarter. Romero faked out the Pioneer defense, which fell for the handoff, allowing the quarterback to run untouched for a 36-yard touchdown and a 21-7 lead. Romero also had a 10-yard run for a touchdown in the first quarter as the Shamrocks jumped out to a…

Attleboro Church Hosts Super Bowl with Green Bay Packers Cheerleader

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - hosts Super Bowl cheese head tailgate party.

Following Sunday morning church service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located on May Street in South Attleboro, church members, friends and a former Green Bay Packer Cheerleader paused for an abbreviated and fun filled Green Bay Packer church tailgate party celebrating Super Bowl Sunday.  Good Shepherd is a Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) congregation. A number of members of the South Attleboro church are transplanted Wisconsin area natives who find their way to New England for various reasons – many families and individuals arrive because of job commitments, some as itinerant military personal while others live here temporarily as educators or students. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church was organized in 1973 in Rumford, RI and …
