Drivers in Bristol County could be stopped at a checkpoint this weekend to determine if they are sober. Massachusetts State Police announced a sobriety checkpoint will be set up "Friday into Saturday" during "varied hours" on a "public way." A state police press release says, "The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways." The release further states, "The selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety." A routine sobriety checkpoint for drivers in Bristol County is slated for the weekend.
Drivers in the Bristol County area should take note that Massachusetts State Police will hold a sobriety checkpoint Friday night into Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, according to an announcement from Colonel Timothy P.
