Increasing Business While Preserving Attleboro's Neighborhoods

Attleboro resident Ellen Parker hopes Industrial Business Park remains a place for low-traffic business.

I was rather surprised at the answer to a question posed to Attleboro City Council candidate Richard Conti at the forum a couple of weeks ago. He suggested that one solution to the Idustrial Business Park Park on Ides Hill was to rezone it to general business, which is a smaller implementation of commercial zoning. I am not exactly sure what he is thinking, or perhaps he has forgotten the whole reason why the city embarked on an Industrial Business Park. It was not to create more fast-food chains and mini-malls. I personally feel that it is not the place to invite businesses such as a McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, and other small retail stores with heavy traffic. Fate of ARA Rescue by Retirement Board in the Hands of the Appraiser

Gary Sagar of the City's Retirement board said the five-member board will do its due diligence on the ARA proposal.

Mayoral Candidate Asks Officials to Pull the Plug on ARA Bailout

Candidate for Mayor, Ronald Churchill is calling for Mayor Kevin Dumas and the Attleboro Redevelopment Authority to abandon a proposal.

Evaluating the use of retirement funds as an option to rescue the ARA is the prudent thing to do, according to Dumas.  "As a leader, I am charged with vetting all …

Mr. Chase, don’t try to re-write history to suit your current support for Ronald McChurchill’s letters AD NAUSEAM. You two seem to share the same pathetic tactic of throwing as much “stuff” against the wall in hopes something will stick. Quick history lesson:The current ARA board is different than ‘said’ ARA board of 06. The former ARA argued with the City’s Assessor that the land was valued too …   more ›
