Attleboro Superintendent Search Group Names Chair

The search group charged with reducing the number of candidates for the Attleboro school district superintendent position met for the first time Thursday and appointed a chair, according to The Sun Chronicle. The newspaper reported former Attleboro High teacher and administrator Ron Struminski was appointed chair and teachers union head Adeline Bee was named vice chair. 2. The Seekonk Meadows will be the location for a Community Walk on Saturday at 10 a.m. The walk is to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and getting involved in the community. 1. Step outside, and you will see there is snow on the ground from an overnight drop. More rain, snow and sleet are expected before 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Rain and sleet should continue between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and then there is a chance of more snow after 5 p.m. The daytime high is expected to be 36 and the nighttime low should reach 27. 2. Several public hearings are scheduled, including two that should attract a large crowd—a $3.55 million loan to the city for construction of an outdoor athletic complex at Attleboro High School and a $1.116 million loan for construction of a new animal shelter. 1. Joe Kennedy III, the newly elected congressman representing Attleboro and Seekonk, will hold an open house Saturday at 1 p.m. at his local office, which is located at 8 North Main St. 2. Congregation Agudas Achim in Attleboro will hold ‘Bring a Friend to Service’ at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. 3. Seekonk Police Chief to Step Down

1. The Sun Chronicle reported today that Seekonk Police Chief Ron Charron will step down in March. No reason was given for the departure. He has been with the department since 1981 and has been the chief since 2006. 2. Unless you're a polar bear, you will probably consider today's weather to be an improvement over yesterday's freezing situation. The National Weather Service's daytime forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high near 36. However, look out for the wind that could reach 13 mph, including gusts up to 25 mph.
