A male suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note. The note indicated that the bank was being robbed and demanded money. There was no weapon shown and no one was injured. Teller Ignores Bank Robbing Hopeful

The attempted robbery took place in Pawtucket near the Attleboro line.

A would-be bank robber could not convince a teller to hand over money Tuesday morning in Pawtucket near the Attleboro line, according to local police. When presented with a robbery note, the Bank of America teller walked away, the Providence Journal reported. From the Journal: The would-be robber appeared baffled in the surveillance photo snapped at 11:34 a.m. at the bank at 1455 Newport Ave. The teller had stepped away per bank procedure, according to the Pawtucket police. The man left empty-handed, getting into a black SUV with Massachusetts license plates, according to the police. He is described as about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, stocky and wearing black glasses. The teller was lucky that the would be robber didn't have a weapon, I find it hard to believe the bank procedure is to walk away. That wasn't the banks procedure a few years ago, when I worked as a teller.   more ›

Alleged Bank Robber Arrested in Seekonk

There was a warrant for the woman's arrest in Fall River.

A Fall River woman is in custody after she was arrested early Friday morning in Seekonk on a bank robbery warrant. The robbery took place in Fall River. Chelsea Cote, 20, was arrested at a local motel after the Seekonk Police Department received a call for service, Lt. Frank John told Seekonk Patch. She was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton to be checked out and then was transferred to Taunton District Court. Cote has been arrested multiple times, including last year in Portsmouth, R.I. on suspicion of possessing oxycodone and giving a false name to police.

Three Arrested in Attleboro Bank Robbery

The suspect is a female with a handgun.

UPDATE  The Sun Chronicle reported two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the robbery. ABC6 in Providence reported a cellphone believed to be dropped by the female suspect was found at the crime scene and used to track the suspects. The Attleboro Police Department spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment. ________ Authorities are searching for a woman who allegedly robbed Bank of America in South Attleboro Wednesday afternoon. A source says the woman used a handgun and left the bank at 685 Washington St. in a white Ford Explorer. Bank Robbery Suspect's Photo Released

The man is a suspect in reported robberies in Seekonk and Somerset.

Seekonk police on Monday released the photo of a man they said robbed Citizens Bank Friday morning. The bank is located in Stop & Shop at 125 Highland Ave. in Seekonk. The unidentified man is also a suspect in a robbery reported later that day in Somerset. Police described the suspect as being a white male in his 30s or 40s, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a thin build and light beard.  "He was wearing a camouflage long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, thick-rimmed eye glasses and a Virginia Tech 'Hokies' baseball cap along with a brown wig," a press release from the police states. Banked Robbed in Seekonk

The reported robbery took place Friday morning at the Citizens Bank in the Stop & Shop on Highland Avenue.

Various sources reported a Friday morning bank robbery at the Citizens Bank in the Stop & Shop on Highland Avenue in Seekonk, not far from the East Providence border. The robbery took place during the 11 a.m. hour, sources say. FOX Providence reported: Initial reports claim the suspect passed a note to the teller, claiming he had a weapon, but no weapon was shown. The suspect is said to be a white male, about 5’7-5’8 tall, wearing a camouflage shirt, and a baseball cap with a wig under it. Capt. Maybe grocery stores aren't the best place for full-service banks. ATMs, yes. Tellers, no. If Stop & Shop doesn't insist on greater security at Citizens, the supermarket will lose customers. Who wants to shop at a supermarket where the bank inside is targetted? At the K-Mart plaza in South Attleboro, the bank was next door to the supermarket. Perhaps this is a better model.   more ›

Citizens Bank in South Attleboro Robbed

Police are searching for the suspect.

Attleboro police are looking for a white male with dark hair in his 30s who they say robbed a local bank late Thursday afternoon. The robbery of the Citizens Bank at 1210 Newport Ave. in South Attleboro took place shortly after 3:30 p.m., according to the time stamp on surveillance video still shots of the suspect. No gun was shown during the robbery, Detective Michael MacNeil told Attleboro Patch. The amount of money taken was not disclosed. Surveillance video still shots of the suspect are attached to this article. Anybody with information about the incident should contact the police station at 508-223-2224.
