The ceremony was held in the Attleboro gymnasium Friday night.
Attleboro High School's Class of 2013 graduated Friday night in the Attleboro High School gymnasium. The ceremony was moved indoor because of inclement weather. After the welcome address was given by principal Bill Runey, Mayor Kevin Dumas addressed the graduating seniors, as did Superintendent Dr. Pia Durkin. Abigal Oliver delivered the saluatory address and Jonathan Giara delivered the valedictory address. Class president Zoe Parker passed the "time key" to class of 2014 president Carlee Russell.
The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in the large gymnasium. Each graduating student is limited to two tickets.
Due to the impending storm, Attleboro High School Principal Bill Runey sent an email to the Class of 2013 and families Thursday informing them that Friday's graduation ceremony will take place inside. The result will be limited seating for students' family members. Each student will be allowed two tickets. Below is Runey's full letter: Dear AHS Class of 2013 and Families, Due to concerns about safety and the ability to have a meaningful ceremony to celebrate our graduates, I am moving the ceremony to the Large Gym. Wet grounds, damp bleachers, and potential rain pose obstacles to an enjoyable evening and will ruin photo opportunities for a momentous occasion. Also, making the decision at this time allows us to save a considerable sum of …

Whatever Pride......From many accounts Mr Runey has done a fine job since coming to AHS. What exactly would you want to hear from him under such conditions...? It totally blows my mind that some people JUST LOOK for things to complain about.. So go ahead, re-write his email. Would you rather he sign off by stating something like.." Ya Know, this Blue Pride thing is starting to grow on me…   more ›

Showers could hit just in time for Attleboro High School's graduation
The National Weather Service is predicting showers in Attleboro beginning Friday and lasting through Saturday night. According to the weather service, the rain will begin Thursday night after a week of mostly sunshine. "As we step into Thursday, clouds return and by the end of the day (after 6pm) there will be a slight chance of some showers with a better chance of showers at night," wrote WHDH's Jeremy Reiner in his weather blog this week. "By Friday it will be full on clouds, showers & humidity as a storm that was born in the tropics (but shall remain nameless at this time) wobbles up the east coast. This storm will likely toss some locally heavy pockets of rain into New England (looks like western/northern New England right now) on …

Seekonk has Steven Howitt for our State Rep. He's a Republican, well, a Massachusetts Republican. He doesn't get a 9x12 daily picture with a fluff piece on The Patch (you know I love the Patch!) and he doesn't write daily blogs with no comments allowed. Here’s a link I’ve found, showing some of the legislation he’s sponsored. I’m not saying he’s the best thing since Ronald Regan but, he’s one of …   more ›

Hi Bobby- The Foundation was started in honor of my mother. For a number of years, she was a waitress at the Wading River Golf Course which is now MGA Links. We hosted a tournament there a few years ago and enjoyed the added tribute to her. The courses in Attleboro were as generous as they could be in donating to the event. Locust Valley and Highland Country Club both donated foursomes and …   more ›
