Facebook Page for Mayoral Candidate Marked Spam

Someone has created a "Re-elect Dumas" Facebook page, but it was not the candidate.

A new social network page was created to promote the re-election of Mayor Kevin Dumas, but the Attleboro mayor said it's not his. Someone has created a Re-Elect Dumas Facebook Page, but the mayor said it is not his page. "That is not my Facebook page," Dumas said when asked about the page. "My Facebook page is Kevin Dumas, not Re-elect Mayor Dumas 2011." "That is not mine and I have no idea where the hell that came from," he added. "I reported it as spam and we'll see what happens." Taking it to the Web It is no surprise that someone has taken to the Internet to spread the word about an Attleboro candidate, especially Kevin Dumas. Last year someone created a Dump Dumas website to sell various products including mugs, boxer briefs and even …

Letter to Editor

Candidate for Mayor Calls for a "Clean" Campaign

Retired Attleboro Fire Chief Ronald Churchill wants candidates to attack these issues, not one another.

To the Editor: At the first candidate’s forum that was held at the South Attleboro American Legion on June 29th, there were many issues where Mayor (Kevin) Dumas and I had differing points of view. However, there was one thing that we both agreed on and even sealed with a handshake: we both agreed to run a clean campaign.  To me that means that neither I nor anyone on my campaign committee will make disparaging or degrading remarks or spread rumors about any candidate running for office. I assume that the Mayor’s handshake means he agrees to the same standards. I have not nor will I break that agreement and I heartily urge every other candidate in this election race to do the same.   Ronald M. Churchill Candidate for Mayor
