Nestled in the heart of Attleboro, the zoo is home to animal species from more than five different continents. Children can spend hours listening to the African lions roar, watching the Australian Red Kangaroos jump and the North American River Otters splash. The park is set on 33 acres of land that was donated by the Capron family in 1937. The zoo occupies eight of those acres. Other areas of note include a children's playground for different age groups, a bandstand, several historic statues and the Newell Shelter for banquets and summer outings. One popular area is the Hagopian Memorial Walk, a stone walk with a rows of garden arches dedicated to Attleboro philanthropists, Rose Hagopian and her late husband Jack.
