State police will operate a checkpoint "Friday into Saturday" during "varied hours" on a "public way."
Massachusetts State Police announced this week a sobriety checkpoint will be set up "Friday into Saturday" during "varied hours" on a "public way" in Bristol County "The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways," states a police press release. The release further states, "The selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety." The man is accused of throwing rocks through the windows at Arbour-Fuller Hospital in South Attleboro.
The Attleboro Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a man who authorities say on several occasions has thrown rocks through Arbour-Fuller Hospital in South Attleboro. The most recent incident caught on video happened May 14, shortly after 1:30 a.m. "The suspect throws rocks through the windows and then flees on a BMX style bicycle," wrote Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon in an email to the media. "He appears to be a white male in his 30s or older." Anybody with information about the incidents or the suspect should contact Attleboro police at 508-223-2224.

An Attleboro man was among five Massport employees indicted this week by the Suffolk County Grand Jury for allegedly taking bribes in exchange for preferential treatment for taxi cab drivers picking up passengers at Logan Airport, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said. Kenneth Clement, 67, and the four others were named in a 53-count indictment. Clement was indicted on 11 counts of soliciting or accepting a bribe as a public employee and two counts of soliciting or accepting an unlawful gratuity as a public employee. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 24 at Suffolk Superior Court. Clement and the other men were arrested in February following a three-month investigation in which the employees received more than $1,000 in bribe…

Members of the public can enjoy a free breakfast and support victims of the Boston Marathon bombing this Saturday. The Professional Firefighters of Attleboro Local 848 is hosting its annual community breakfast at the department headquarters, located at 100 Union St. "During this time, we will have a large boot out and hoping for donations for the victims of the Boston Marathon," wrote union Secretary/Treasurer Corey Blais in an email to Attleboro Patch.
