Rodrigues, 44, of Falmouth Street, Attleboro, a beloved son, brother and uncle passed Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in St. Michael, Azores on Jan. 3, 1969, Paulo was a son of Maria (Tavares) Rodrigues of Attleboro and the late Manuel Rodrigues who passed on July 15, 2009. Paulo and his family settled in Attleboro in 1974. He was raised and educated in Attleboro and attended Attleboro High School. Paulo was employed as a chef at the Pawtucket Country Club for the last five years, leaving this February because if illness. Born in Attleboro on May 21, 1957, John was a son of the late John A. and Muriel L. (Smith) Berger. John was raised and educated in Dighton and was a graduate of Dighton- Rehoboth Regional High School, Class of 1975. Mr. LaPorte, a mechanical contractor, was the co-founder of Environmental Systems Inc., Attleboro for 31 years before retiring in 2007. Richard was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Brian P. "Hammer" Pardey Sr., of Burt Street in Attleboro died April 17 at his home. He was 58. He was born in Groton, Conn. to Frederick & Janet A. (Prew) Pardey. Pardey was an Attleboro resident since 1968, coming from Charlestown, S.C. He graduated from Attleboro High School in 1974 and was inducted in to the Attleboro area Hall of Fame in 1988. Pardey was a construction supervisor for more than 17 years at the Home worker Company Inc. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Attleboro and a former member of the Bristol Lodge of North Attleboro. Mr. Vicaire was born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late Bill and Bella (Capelin) Vicaire. Joseph went to work at age 14, in a lumber camp, and did that for 14 years. He also worked at a couple of foundries, for more than 36 years. Upon retiring worked in a campground until 2009. He liked doing woodworking, and also loved animals. Virginia Rose (Monse) Plante of Streeter Lane in Attleboro died April 19 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was 87. She was born in Providence to John and Lucy Monse, and was a resident of Attleboro for the rest of her life. Plante was an assembler for the circuit boards at Texas Instruments for more than 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. Plante enjoyed spending time with her family and watching sports, especially youth sports with the kids. She did beautiful needlework and passed the time doing crossword puzzles. Joyce Ann Nordberg of Stockade Circle in Attleboro died April 15 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was 68. Born in Providence on Aug. 7, 1944, she was a daughter of Rosento and Maria Ventriglia. She was raised and educated in Providence and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1961. Nordberg was employed for more than eight years as an office clerk at the Attleboro Business Center in downtown Attleboro until becoming ill. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Years ago, Nordberg was active in Attleboro Youth Hockey. I last saw Brian during the blizzard of '13. I couldn't handle snow removal at the multifamily and Brian got the call. My last image of Brian will be him and his F250 pushing an enormous mountain of snow at high speed, back tires off the ground, absolutely fearless. I can't believe he's gone.
