I urge you to read this before you waste your money. This place is a joke. There are alot of people doubting the use of the traditional martial arts after what they have seen in MMA but this place doesnt even teach you the good things those traditional arts teach. For starters the people there are the nicest I've met at a dojo and the prices are chaep...but those are the only good things about it. This school will not teach you any proper self defense techniques for one, they also have NO sparring what so ever instead they do this thing they call sparring where you stand across from each other and throw a punch either high, middle, or low and you use different types of blocks to stop them and then counter with a strike without contact. Its bad enough when dojos only teach point sparring but this is rediculous. This place also does not teach a proper fighting stance or how to effectively throw strikes or even teach strikes that actually work, for example during the thing they called sparring I mentioned the instructor told me not to throw a hook and belittled Jiu Jitsu. I've read about places like this where a black belt was beaten so badly due to his improper training he almost died. No one is good enough to always avoid getting hit or always stopping someone with one blow so if you never practice getting hit you wont know what to do when you get hit hard. Save your money people go do MMA, or Boxing, or at least a school that isnt run by guys afraid to get hit.

This is a quality martial arts school that teaches traditional Shotokan Karate. A truly traditional dojo is VERY hard to find, and this is one of those rare dojo's! Their prices are very reasonable and they are open 7 days a week (no contracts!). A great staff of over 20 black belts. Visitors are always welcome.

After years of searching for a traditional Shotokan dojo, I stumbled upon New England Martial dojo and was welcomed with open arms. Almost five years later, I am still attending twice a week. They have become like a second family to me and have taught me so much more than karate. I highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a great workout (for all ages, both male and female) in a safe environment where you can enhance your mind, body & spirit.

This is a quality school that offers safe classes with knowledgeable instructors. They are not about making money teaching karate, they care about their students! Very affordable monthly fees: $75.00 for one and $100.00 for the whole family. No contracts required. They always welcome visitors to any class.

My parents originally picked this dojo because this dojo does not participate in tournaments. No going home with cracked ribs or knuckles! Instead, they focus on traditional kata and sparing, and hit makiwara to teach how to safely punch and kick. 10 years later, I'm still a student.

One of the really nice things about this school is the number of black belts. They have a LOT of blackbelts, many of whom have studied several years in other arts. They are courteous, helpful, and very knowledgeable.

Also, no long term contracts. Flat fee, come as much as you want. When life has taken me to other areas, I am always irritated by the fact that I need to pay to take more classes at other schools. Not here. Want to come to every class all month? No worries, they appreciate the company.

They always seem to have children and grandparents at the family classes. Age and wisdom practicing alongside youth and strength. At one point, they had three generations of the same family on the floor at the same time.

Highly recommend this dojo!
