That Chardonnay's is packed just about every night should come as no surprise: it has great food at great prices. Everything revolves around the bar, which is centered right beneath the apex of the cathedral ceiling and is lined on two sides by tall counters and tall, intimate tables with accompanying tall stools. From these vantage points, it's great to people-watch as you sip your beer, wine or specialty cocktail. This too is where you order from the happy hour menu, with its amazingly inexpensive and delectable appetizers. If a more intimate setting is desired then there are plenty of tables – including some that are tucked away from the crowd – to enjoy the restaurant's entrees.  Decor is dark and rustically elegant.
