I was "discharged" as a patient from the practice because I disputed the $30 co-pay generated when the office billed my one visit as two visits. My health plans allows one "wellness" visit per year with no co-pay. The doctor elected to do an EKG, which isn't part of a wellness exam, so the second line item, for a std office visit, generated a co-pay. To top it off, the EKG was done incorrectly and I lost 3 hours of pay the next day because I had to go back and have it redone. Come to find out, there was no need for an EKG, my heart doctor had just done one a few months ago. When I challenged the double billing I was dropped, after 15 years with this practice, over a $30 co-pay.

I've been a patient of Dr. Loew's at this facitiy for several years and have nothing but praise for him (and his staff). I've disputed bills in the past and have not encountered the issue that John S had. Perhaps it's in the approach? I don't know. But let's not condemn all the doctors that work at this facility because of a problem with one. Again, my experiences have been with Dr. Loew and his staff and they've been great.
