The municipal fire department in Attleboro strives to keep the city safe from fires and other hazards by following the department's motto of "We are ready to serve whenever we are called." The department operates four separate fire stations through its headquarters at 100 Union St. Each station, manned by four rotating shifts of 81 personnel including one chief, four deputy fire chiefs, 13 captains and 63 firefighters, provide the community with a slew of fire prevention services. When Attleboro's firefighters are not fighting fires they are in the community providing awareness and educations programs to residents including CPR classes, the Juvenile Fire Setter program, which educates children ages 3-17 about fire and its consequences, and the Student Awareness Fire Education (SAFE) program. The fire department also offers community education and guidance through hurricane, winter ice and survival safety tips.
