History's Witches author meet-and-greet and book discussion

Local author and illustrator Lisa Graves will be at the Attleboro Public
Library on Friday, October 25th at 3:15 p.m. for an author meet-and-greet
and discussion of History's Witches. This illustrated guide of the
witches of history explores the lives of thirteen different women who were falsely accused of witchcraft. Using an infographic style, History's Witches will fascinate middle graders through teens with tales of female empowerment in the face of bullying and persecution. We invite you to join us immediately after for a book signing at Ugly Dog Books at 75 Union St. in Attleboro.

Halloween is almost here and you should plan on heading to the zoo for an evening of hijinks and fun! Live entertainment, games and more are a part of this fun-filled evening.

The night will be packed full of carnival-like fun! We encourage guests...both young and young-at-heart...to wear costumes. This is a great not-so-scary event for children of all ages.

Pumpkin Carving Contest
Bring your carved pumpkins for our Third Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. Carve up your best wicked cool, or spooky, or humorous, or cool-spooky-humorous Pumpkin. Get creative and get carving! 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes and a Kiddo prize too! All you need to do is to bring your carved creation to the Market before 10 a.m. to register it. Judging will be at High Noon!

More chalk fun
David Laferriere will be back doing a Chalk Caricature or a Chalk-A-Doodle for a $5 donation to the Attleboro Arts Museum. David is a member of the Attleboro Farmers Market and the Attleboro Arts Museum boards of trustees. He is also the Dad who has been drawing on this kids’ sandwich bags since May of 2008.


Boy Scout Troop 24 Host "Dare to Be Scared" Haunted House

Details:
Boy Scout Troop 24 has been setting up quite a scare at the American Legion in South Attleboro (437 Newport Ave) .  The Scouts will be running a Haunted House in an effort to raise funds for the Troop.  They will also be collecting canned goods for St. Vincent DePaul's food pantry located at St.Theresa's Parish.  To enter the Spooky premise for a good scare the cost will be $4.00 per person but if you bring a canned good the cost is discounted to $3.00.  Dates and times for the event are as follows: Friday October 25th  7- 10 PM, Saturday October 26th 1 - 6 PM and Sunday October 27th 2 - 6 PM.  Please come down and support the Boy Scouts and have a good scream!

Norton Halloween Parade

The parade starts at the Attleboro/Norton line and follows Route 123 until St. Mary’s Church.
