Volunteers are needed on Saturday, August 24, to help the Attleboro Land Trust with a meadow restoration project at the Nickerson Walking Woods Preserve on Richardson Avenue.  The meadow, formerly a cow pasture, had in recent years become overgrown with small pine trees.  The trees have been cut and now need to be carried out to the parking lot where they will be ground into wood chips.  Volunteers should wear long pants and bring work gloves if they have them.

Volunteers are welcome any time between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 noon.  From downtown Attleboro, take Route 123 (Pleasant Street) east, then turn left onto Richardson Avenue and go north for 1/2 mile.  The Nickerson Walking Woods Preserve parking lot entrance is on the right.
The Nickerson Walking Woods Preserve trail system will be formally opened to the public on September 15.  For more information send an email to attleborolandtrust@gmail.com or visit www.attleborolandtrust.org.
