VIDEO: Bikers Gang Up On Cancer With Memorial Ride

Motorcyclists biked for "A Ride For Tomorrow" last Saturday in memorial of Mariah Burda.

The low, loud roar of motorcycles could be heard throughout Seekonk and East Providence last Saturday afternoon, as over 150 volunteers rode their bikes in the fourth-annual Ride For Tomorrow fundraiser.

Starting at Seekonk's , the bikers rode for seven miles to Houlihan's Tavern on the River in East Providence where food, raffle, and music awaited.

The fundraiser is dedicated to the memory of the late Mariah Burda. In May of 2006, Mariah, then 14, was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma. After a year of fighting the cancer, Mariah passed away in March of 2007.

The Burda family organized the ride as a tribute to Mariah's memory, as well as a fundraiser to benefit The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro's Children's Hospital. The Tomorrow Fund is a charity for helping cancer patients and their families. Feeling grateful for all their support, the Burda family established this Ride For Tomorrow fundraiser in order to give back to the Tomorrow Fund.

Cheryl, one of the fundraiser's organizers, marveled at the great turnout this year. The warm weather and clear skies allowed this year's ride to run smoothly.
