Seekonk Fire Department Clamboil Cooked for Charity

The clamboil was held at the Seekonk Rod and Gun Club in Rehoboth.

Last Friday, the Seekonk Fire Department met up at the Seekonk Rod and Gun Club located in Rehoboth for an old-fashioned clamboil. Families, fire department personnel and friends bought tickets to support the organization that fights fires and makes rescue trips in town.

But it wasn't just a social gathering. The day raised hundreds of dollars for the Rhode Island Chapter of Pink Heals, a local organization that raises awareness regarding breast cancer.

According to Fire Department member Adam Clemins, the day went off without a hitch

"It was a really nice day...Everyone had a good time," he said.

A week before the event, tickets were sold out.

Before the festivities begun, attendees gave a moment of silence in memory Chief Alan Jack's wife, Susan, who recently passed away. Military personnel were also remembered.
