"We are preparing our emergency response team and actions should we need to transport animals and to assist with community animals. We have about six crates coming in from folks who are allowing us to use them just in case. These crates will be tagged and returned after the State of Emergency is over," Penque said of their preparations at the Attleboro High School shelter.
In the case of an evacuation the shelter will also need tarps because the room designated for animals will need to be tarped off before crates are placed in the room.

One of the biggest difficulties facing the shelter is what to do with cats. Since the city has no ordinance in place for them the responsibility all falls on the FAAS. Currently a plan is in place with Animal Control and the FAAS regarding transporting animals.
