FREE E-Waste Drop-Off to be at The Farmers Market at Attleboro Farms Sun Sept 15

Free E-Waste Drop-Off to be held at The Farmers Market at Attleboro Farms Sunday September 15, 2013 from 12 noon to 3 pm. Indiecycle of Charlestown,  Rhode island will be at the market for the third time this year collecting e-waste at no charge to those dropping off, (except for a $10 fee for Freon containing appliances, ex: mini fridges, air conditioners, dehumidifiers). “This will be the third drop off we have hosted this year at the market,” said David Scanlan Market Manager, “ the first 2 collections yielded over 20,000 lbs of e-waste, not only saving folks the disposal fees but diverting all of it to be re-used or recycled.”

Indiecycle of Charlestown RI accepts pretty much all electronics for drop off at no cost, with the exception of Freon containing appliances as outlined above. According Phyllis Hutnak the owner of Indiecycle, “ We have a business model that allows us to provide free pick up due to our relationships with recyclers for what we collect. Being at events like the Farmers Market at Attleboro Farms creates an opportunity for folks to drop off their e-waste at a non-traditional time and place and shop locally with the money saved by not paying a disposal fee.”

Indiecycle will be onsite from 12 noon to 3 pm, Sunday September 15, Rain or Shine to collect what you have. This drop off is open to anyone from North Attleboro and surrounding communities. The following items will be accepted: computers and peripherals, phones of all types, stereos, tv’s and small appliances, batteries of all kinds. The following are NOT accepted: lightbulbs, mattresses, paper or Styrofoam, paint, firearms or TV’s with exposed tubes. For information or to arrange a pickup for an itme too large to transport contact Indiecycle directly at 401-484-8838, a nominal fee will apply.
