Seekonk Hosts Memorial Day Parade

Musicians, politicians, clowns and vintage fire trucks are among the features.

The annual Seekonk Memorial Day Parade took place on Saturday, with people, floats, trucks and tractors moving down the route from to .

The Master of Ceremonies was World War II veteran and Seekonk resident Moto Elderkin.

Following the parade, event organizer and former Fire Chief David Viera led a ceremony recognizing the importance of Memorial Day. Several local leaders spoke, including Board of Selectmen Chair Francis Cavaco, State Sen. James Timilty and state Rep. Steven Howitt. Seekonk resident and Attleboro Elks member Ed Wiseman read a moving poem.
