Driving Through Seekonk

Some things are different than they used to be, others are not.

On a recent drive from a horse farm in Tiverton, I decided to drive through Seekonk on my way back home to Attleboro. It has been quite some time since I had been through some parts of town.

Coming down Route 6 past , I thought about the former Oscar's Hardware Store on Lincoln Street I'll bet that takes some of you back a couple of years! That was one of those hardware stores where if you couldn't find it somewhere else, people would say, "Go to Oscars, they'll have it!" And they usually had it or something that would do the same job. Well, it is now a computer repair business. At least it hadn't been torn down and replaced with 20 new homes or maybe 10 mansions.

Continuing on Lincoln Street, then to Prospect Street, well nothing much had changed since I first started driving in the '60s. Yup, there were cars then, but a majority were with standard shifts. My parent had automatics, so taking a driving test on a standard was ... well, glad I passed!

Anyway, I posted a couple of photos in the . There is nothing spectacular, just things that caught my eye and gave me deeper thoughts at the moment.

What did you photograph today? Post some in the gallery. Let's see what inspired you to aim that camera and press the shutter button.
