Seekonk Pooch Wins Group at Dog Show

Joe, an affenpinscher, is among the finalists at the prestigious National Dog Show Presented by Purina.

A local affenpinscher won the breed and group contests at the National Dog Show Presented by Purina, but was unable to win the Best in Show title, which went to a wire fox terrier for the second year in a row.

Joe, who is owned by Zoila Truesdale and Mieke Cooymans of Seekonk, has won more than 80 Best in Show titles in Europe and North America, making him the top award winner of all time in his breed. He placed first in the toy group competition to qualify for the Best in Show contest at the National Dog Show Presented by Purina.

The winning wire fox terrier is named Sky. The other breeds represented in the Best in Show competition were an American foxhound, a great Dane, a Tibetan spaniel, a bearded collie and a field spaniel.
