Seekonk Football Player Joining Elite Company for Shriners Game

Matt Lockwood is only the fourth player in Seekonk history selected to play in the all-star high school football game.

Seekonk's own Matt Lockwood will get a chance to play football with the best of the best when he takes part in the Shriners Football Classic next week.

Lockwood is only the fourth player since the inception of the Shriners Bowl in 1979 to be selected from Seekonk High School. The others are Jason Swepson (1988), Chris Hanoian (2008) and Chris Howard (2008).

One hundred high school seniors in Massachusetts are chosen every year to play in this elite game. It takes place this year on Friday, June 17, at 7 pm at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. Tickets are $15 – $10 goes to Shriners Hospital and $5 goes to the player's athletic department (Seekonk High School).
