Seekonk 200 to Feature Singer Brown, Champion Keith Rocco

The event will take place next Saturday.

The region is gearing up for the Seekonk 200, an auto racing and fundraising event that will take place at Seekonk Speedway this coming Saturday to celebrate the municipality's 200th anniversary and raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Providence.

Event organizers have announced that the event will feature the singing of the American and Canadian national anthems by recording artist Ayla Brown, who is the daughter of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and the official national anthem singer for the Philadelphia 76ers. Also, 2010 Whelan All American national champion Keith "Kid Roc" Rocco will compete in the NEMA Lite portion of the event's Boston Louie Memorial Classic.

"Seekonk Speedway is the perfect track to race with NEMA," said Rocco, according to an event press release. "I have never raced there, only practiced once with Ole Blue. I look forward to competing for the first time at the Cement Palace."
