Former Patriot Joins Bombardier Coaching Staff

Sammy Morris will be on the staff with Attleboro High School's new head coach Michael Strachan.

The Attleboro High School varsity football team has someone with NFL experience joining the coaching staff for the 2013 season. The school announced former New England Patriot Sammy Morris will be an assistant coach.

"I am looking forward to having coach Sam Morris on the football staff at Attleboro High School," wrote AHS athletic director Mark Houle in an email to Attleboro Patch.

Morris, 36, was an NFL running back for 12 seasons, including a stint with the Patriots from 2007 to 2011. His best season was in 2008, when he rushed for 727 yards and scored seven touchdowns. Morris also played for the Bills, Dolphins and Cowboys. He last played in the NFL in 2011.

Michael Strachan was announced as the Bombardiers' new head coach in February. The North Attleboro High graduate replaces Kevin Deschenes, who resigned in November after 12 seasons.
