MEDITATION WORKSHOP
Beat holiday stress before it begins! Local educator and meditation practitioner, Khipra Nichols, teaches this beginners workshop for those who are interested in both the practical and spiritual benefits of a regular meditation practice. The workshop will feature simple but powerful meditation techniques, like yogic breathing, guided visualization, and readings about the philosophy of meditation and peace of mind, and will be presented in three 25-minute sessions:
- The Basics of Meditation,
- Creating a Daily Practice at Home,
- Creativity and Meditation for Achieving Goals
The workshop serves as a participatory introduction to meditation practice and includes music, short videos, and other activities aimed at creating a meditative space for increasing ones receptivity to inner dynamism and silence.
Khipra Nichols has studied meditation with Sri Chinmoy for over 33 years and has spent most of that time teaching free meditation workshops.He is also an artist, writer and collage professor at the Rhode Island School of Design. Khipra is also the local coordinator for World Harmony Runs International and has participated in these events throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Asia.
