Senator Ross Seeks Nominations for Unsung Heroine Ceremony

Boston – Senator Richard Ross (R-Wrentham) is seeking nominations for the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women’s Eleventh Annual Unsung Heroines of Massachusetts ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 1:00 – 4:00pm in the Great Hall of the State House in Boston.

 

“This is an excellent opportunity to honor the selfless women who are dedicated to improving their communities,” said Senator Ross. “I encourage any constituent who would like to recognize an Unsung Heroine in their community to contact my office.”

Unsung Heroines are women who dedicate their time, talents and enthusiasm to enrich the lives of others and to improve their community. Past honorees have included educators, advocates, business women, and volunteers who have worked with seniors, victims of violence, children, and immigrants.

To nominate a woman in your community as an Unsung Heroine, please email Senator Ross at richard.ross@masenate.gov with the following information about the nominee. Submissions are due by February 7, 2014.
