A Wamsutta Middle School student paid a big price Thursday for the convenience of using a butter knife to cut her fruit. She was suspended, according to FOX 25 in Boston.
Morgan LaPlume ... was simply trying to cut her fruit for lunch because she has braces and can't take bites out of whole fruit, says the LaPlaume family. During lunch, the vice principal happened to be walking by when he apparently saw Morgan with the butter knife, took her to his office and issued her a suspension.
Wamsutta principal Karol Coffin told FOX 25 vice principal Ray Lamore was following rules in the school handbook prohibiting knives on campus, according to the TV station.
