Seekonk Schools Plunge into 200th Anniversary Fundraiser

To fund the creation of a symphony composed for Seekonk's 2012 anniversary, school department members are selling bottled water at the Memorial Day Parade.

Seekonk's 200th anniversary is coming in 2012, and to get ready for the affair of the century, organizations across town have been preparing.

The Seekonk School Department is no exception. They plan on creating an original symphony to commemorate the event. In order to fund the creation of this music, members and students are selling bottled water with a special commemorative label for $2 per bottle. The kick-off for water sales will be at the Dr. Kevin M. Hurley Middle School during the Seekonk Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for Monday, May 20.

After Memorial Day, anyone interested in buying water can contact Dr. Phyllis Dupere at Seekonk High School or Mrs. Meyer at the Seekonk school administration building.
