Seekonk School Committee to Discuss Superintendent's Resignation

The Attleboro School Committee also meets tonight.

of Seekonk school district Superintendent Madeline Meyer will be the focus of tonight's School Committee meeting. Meyer resigned Friday morning. 

No official reason has been given for Meyer's departure. Various sources familiar with the situation told Attleboro-Seekonk Patch that the Seekonk Educators Association, , was prepared to take a no-confidence vote over allegations of plagiarism.

School Committee member Brian Freitas told Patch on Friday, "The plan going forward will be discussed Monday."

The meeting will take place at at 7 p.m. The agenda is attached. It was drafted before Meyer's resignation, so that issue is not included in the document.

The Attleboro School Committee will also meet tonight. Agenda items include a vote on the 2012-13 budget and the introduction of the new principal. The Sun Chronicle reported on Friday that the current principal Bill Runey had been selected for the position.
