School District Offers Support Following Marathon Bombings

Attleboro High students will wear blue and yellow Tuesday to honor the victims of the attacks and collect money for The One Fund Boston.

With students returning to school today in Attleboro for the first time since the bombing attacks at the Boston Marathon, the school district is offering support from administrators and counselors to those who need it, Superintendent Pia Durkin told parents in a phone message delivered to homes.

Attleboro High School students will honor the victims by wearing blue and yellow Tuesday, principal Bill Runey wrote in email Sunday night to parents.

"We are having a voluntary collection from anyone wearing blue or yellow; anyone who wishes may contribute in the House Offices," Runey wrote. "We will make a contribution to The One Fund Boston victim's relief fund."

Runey added, "This week reminded us again of how precious life is. Those were a harrowing few hours spent wondering if our family and friends who were at the marathon were safe. My prayers were answered as I received texts and calls from our staff members who were at the race."
