Bishop Feehan Benefactors Honored During All Souls Day

Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro honors benefactors during All Souls Day ceremony.

As part of its many celebrations, in Attleboro presented posthumously three “Spirit of Feehan” medallions during their All Souls Day Liturgy ceremony, the school announced Wednesday.

The medallions were recently presented to major benefactors of the school Bernard “Barney” Doyle (1906-1991), Eugene “Gene” Farrell (1911-1980) and Dr. and Mrs. James DeWitt. The benefactors were honored as representatives of the thousands of people who, like them, have played a critical role in the ability of Bishop Feehan to carry out its mission over 50 years, according to the school.

Mary Doyle Clark '68 accepted the award on behalf of her father, Barney Doyle, while Mr. Paul O’Boy, who was a firsthand witness of Mr. Farrell’s good deeds, accepted the award on his behalf.

“These individuals were true giants,” said Director of Alumni Sue Rojee who made the presentation to DeWitt. “They planted the seeds of Bishop Feehan High School, and their example taught us all what the true meaning of service is.  These are the people whose example we must follow in developing our own culture of giving for those who follow us.”
