Library a Great Way to Keep Kids Entertained Over Vacation
The schools have this week off, which means a lot more free time than usual for kids. Consider the library as one place to pass the time.
The has a number of programs going this week that are perfect for parents who are looking to entertain their children during their winter vacation from school.
Tonight at 6:30 p.m., the library is hosting a free performance of Sparky’s Puppets’ “Stories from Snowy Lands!", a puppet show with three short winter-themed stories about a bear going ice fishing, a toy maker and a snowman who comes to life.
Sparky’s Puppets have been performing shows throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut for the past 30 years and their shows are aimed at ages 3 to 10.

On Wednesday, the library with be holding a Kids’ Favorites Movie Marathon from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The library will be taking requests from families and show what movies they want to see, as long as they are available from the library. The library will also be supplying popcorn to snack on during the movies.
Of course these programs are in addition to all the regular library services of books, music and movies available to take home and enjoy with your kids as they get ready to get back to school on Jan. 3.

The library is open 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday. On New Year's Eve the library will only be open from 10 a.m. until noon and will also be closed on Monday in observance of New Years’ Day.
