It’s Kindergarten Registration in the City

Attleboro Elementary Schools held open house to residents of incoming students.

 

Attleboro Public Schools held a throughout the city last night to qualified incoming kindergarten students. It was a time for parents to meet with school administration and teachers and also get a tour of the elementary school in their district.

At parents filled in the school library causing some to stand due to a positive turnout. Principal Catherine Zinni welcomed the parents with sign-in sheets and an overhead projection to go over school qualifications and necessary paperwork.

Parents were introduced to the school nurse, daycare personnel, and classroom teachers. Also on hand were the Willett PTO members inviting parents to start becoming involved now and taking their emails to include them on upcoming events. They were then welcomed to ask any questions they may have about their incoming student.

Once the meeting time was finished parents were taken to a kindergarten classroom where they were showed what their child would expect come school time. Teachers remained in the classroom to answer questions from parents and tables were set up in the hallway with appointments for parents to make for school registration. The parents will be meeting with the school in the coming months to make sure all paperwork is completed to put their child on the full day lottery. Also, parents will be scheduling the child’s screening which is also a requirement for the schools to assess what the child would need learning wise.
