Heating System Malfunction Results in Cold Morning for AHS

The heating system at Attleboro High School was not working Monday morning. While the system was quickly fixed, two classrooms remained too cold for class.

It was a cold morning for Attleboro High School students, faculty and staff.

Attleboro Principal Bill Runey messaged parents Monday morning to notify them that the heat in the entire building was not working at the time they arrived at school. He said the maintenance staff was notified and the situation was quickly rectified.

Still, two classrooms remained below the 66-degree state minimum standard for temperature.

"The rooms that do not meet the state standard have been relocated for the remainder of the day," Runey wrote to parents on the AHS Facebook page. "Our Facilities Department will notify me if those affected rooms will need to be relocated tomorrow."
