The Dual Immersion Program at Mt. Vernon School is NOT NEW. It has been running for two years now and it's inception was the work of former principal, Gustavo Vasquez. Beginning the 2012/13 school year it will slowly evolve into a dual immersion only school. Please give credit where credit is due.

Hi Marcia! The program's expansion into preschool is new this year. Hadn't heard about plans for the school to be dual-immersion only. Exciting! It's such a wonderful program.

I find myself humbled and needing to apologize to Donna Willson. I misread the article and jumped the gun with my comments. The Dual Immersion Program IS new to the preschool next year and I am confident that it will be as successful as it has been at the elementary school level. I will be more careful in my comments in the future. Thank you for calling me on it Donna and again, my apologies.
