Elementary Students in Attleboro Celebrate Reading with the Community

Several officials took a break from their city jobs to read to students.

Students at Peter Thacher Elementary School have been busy reading. This month, students have already read 636 books and 1,892, 230 words. On Wednesday, the school celebrated Community Reading Day, an annual spring tradition.

"The theme this year was "helping and learning," Principal Elaine Sabra said. "It's a great way to celebrate our students passion for reading with the community."

Books are chosen and students are treated to a visit by local officials who celebrate the joy of reading with the students.
