Brennan Receives Boost for the Arts

Bob's Furniture has provided Brennan Middle School with $2,500.

will receive $2,500 in financial support from an unlikley source on December 9, Bob's Discount Furniture.

The Attleboro middle school was one of four Massachusetts schools to receive extra money to put toward their arts programs. Brennan will receive $2,500 as part of Bob’s Outreach Program, which began nearly 20 years ago, according to the company. 

The school has more to thank than Bob's, as contributions came from patrons to Bob's store cafe. Each time a shopper dropped money into a donation jar it went toward the outreach program.

"Budget cuts are everywhere, especially in the schools," the company states on its website. Programs for the Arts are the first to go."

"Bob’s values the community support we receive at all of our locations, and we are committed to helping enhance education and arts programs in these areas by encouraging donations and distributing money to worthy schools and community organizations," said Cathy Poulin, public relations director, Bob’s Discount Furniture. "In December, we're supporting six schools in Massachusetts, and we look forward to helping out schools in neighboring states in 2012."

The furniture chain will also be teaming up with the American Red Cross and the New England Patriots for a blood drive on Saturday, December 10 at . The event will take place from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
