Back to School at Studley Elementary
Rainy, cool weather greets Attleboro students on their first day back.
Raincoats and umbrellas ruled the day, but the cool temperatures and pouring rain didn't dampen the spirits of students at as they jumped off the buses and back into the classroom Wednesday morning.
Crossing Guard Susie Martin kept her eye on the traffic flowing onto Rathbun Willard Drive, occasionally waving her hand to indicate "SLOW DOWN" to some motorists who may have forgotten the rules of a school zone during the long summer break. "It's 20 miles per hour through here," Martin said.
Math teacher Nancy Doyle said that the start of a new school year is always an exciting time. "My goal for the year is to see our students excel," Doyle said. "We have high expectations for our kids."

Carlton Legg, math coach and head teacher explained that when "back-to-school" day comes around I'm here doing what I'm asked to do. "I've been doing this for 36 years now,", Legg said. "With the first day of school we'll see many smiles and perhaps a few tears, and our hope is that the smiles will outweigh the tears."
