Attleboro's Special Ed. Head Could Leave

Marisa McCarthy is a finalist for the special education director position in Arlington and is scheduled to visit the district Thursday.

Working in Attleboro could be a one-year gig for Marisa McCarthy, the local school district's interim director of special education. The Arlington school district recently announced she is one of two finalists for the top special education position there. She is scheduled to visit Arlington Thursday.

McCarthy was appointed to her job in Attleboro in June. The district is searching for a regular director of special education, and a job notice was posted online last week. McCarthy would not tell Attleboro Patch whether she would apply for the position.

"It is such a confidential process that I could not comment," she said.
