Attleboro Schools Superintendent Selection Committee Formed

The names of the committee members will not be released for three weeks.

A nine-member committee has been formed by Attleboro School Committee Chair Mike Tyler to help with the school district superintendent selection. Who is on that committee will remain a mystery to the general public for three weeks.

Tyler announced at the Monday school committee meeting that he submitted the names of the panelists to his colleagues Sunday. He said no school committee members are on the list. The special committee will reduce the number of applicants to a minimum of five people. From that group, the school committee will choose a new superintendent.

The school committee chair said the people he chose to be on the special committee are "experienced" and it is a list "I am proud of." He said he would announce the names at the next school committee meeting on Jan. 28.
