How come everybody crucifies bus drivers? Look at all the safe miles these buses travel every day. How many bus accidents happen? Compare it to how many car crashes there are every day. Some bus drivers drive fast, but over all it remains the safest way for students to get to school. And I'm sure this driver was trained. All bus drivers have to pass a cdl road test and it isn't an easy test to take. Accidents do happen, people (including bus drivers) make mistakes. How many fo you curse buses that are in front of you? Or run the reds? Or speed around them? In general, school bus drivers are far better drivers than the general public. This bus driver probably should have kept a better following distance. I'm sure the company will look into it and a highly qualified trainer will determin if they should be kept on the road.

I went by this accident this morning. It may also be possible that because of library traffic going in and out that may have contribute to the cause. I witness people pull out of library and then dont accelerate with traffic. Lots of reasons in that area.

As a driver I know we all get trained very well on how to do our jobs...i think if everyone that drives even just cars should go through what we go through guaranteed 90% of those idiots would be off the roads...

Nobody is perfect. I'm sure the bus drivers are cautious while driving with kids on the bus. Before making comments so quickly without thinking outside the box. Take a look in the mirror. Thank you

I drive thru town every day north to south at rush hours. I have never seen a full size bus full. I know it's a contract and the bus company can roll out a full size bus for 2 kids but Seekonk should have at least half the bus fleet short.

Paul, that is not true. My kids ride the bus to school everyday. It is a full bus where most of the kids are 3 to a seat. I give these bus drivers a lot of credit. It cannot be easy being in charge of 30 or so kids and having to stop at each stop making sure each kid gets off safely. Glad to see that no one was seriously injured in the accident.

Mr. Horton does not deserve to get fired. I was one of those students on the bus and yes one of the students went to the hospital, but everything was fine with her. Once the accident happened, Mr. Horton cooperated with the police and made sure all the kids were ok. The only reason why this crash happened was because a white truck unexpectantly cut the Swansea lady off and Mr. Horton stopped short.
