Introducing: Dianne Sawyer, Candidate for School Committee - Ward 1

Dear City Residents,

My name is Dianne Sawyer. I am a candidate to represent Ward 1 on the Attleboro Public School Committee. I am running      because I believe in Attleboro and because I believe the children of Attleboro deserve to be heard. Ward 1 needs someone who would represent the children, parents and community.

I was born and raised in Attleboro. I am a Claims Examiner for Lifespan in Providence. My family and I are quite active in our church at Second Congregational in downtown. I am on the Christian Education Committee and an assistant teacher. We teach our daughter the importance of giving back by volunteering and advocating for causes we believe in.

Our daughter, Alexandra, attends Hill-Roberts Elementary school which gives me first hand   knowledge of the issues facing our children today. I care about the decisions being made that will affect my family and yours and I will always make my decisions based on the best interest of the      children. They are the future of Attleboro.

My Goals

1-Maintain our advances in English and Math MCAS testing, but   improve scores in Technology and Science.

2-Technology changes so fast. We need to keep our technology to up date. All students need to have access to todays computers and programs in addition to Wifi capability throughout the school system.

3-Maintain our Schools and their grounds to high standards.

4-Make sure the schools Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan is fully implemented to ensure all children’s safety.
